  3. Wifi only mode

We have 4 iPhones in the family but the kids' 2 do not have a cellular data plan. An option to set a device like that as "wifi only" that would trigger away and/or home based solely on whether the phone is connected to the home wifi network.

Great idea! Unfortunately, if a device with WiFi only network leaves the house, it won’t be able to notify the thermostat because it has no network connection to do so.

  4. Allow the choice to opt for auto away instead of away triggered by skylark

So the nest sense will be able to sense motion from the cleaner who comes by every other week and activate the heating when she comes by.

Otherwise i will have to instruct the cleaning lady on the operation of the thermostat.

  5. Additional "home" wifi networks

I go to the gym often, which is outside my geofence setting, but I don't want my Nest to turn off when I'm there. They have wifi, so if we could add more than one home wifi network, that would also solve the other comment about a "work setting".

The Home WiFi setting doesn’t actually cause Skylark to trigger Home or Away. It’s sort of a safeguard with Skylark. If Skylark would otherwise trigger away and it sees that it’s on the home network, it will keep it from triggering. iOS does not allow us to reliably trigger based on WiFi network.

Have you considered increasing your ‘leaving’ radius to include your gym?

  6. Radius

I live and sometimes work close to my home.

Is there a possibility of reducing the radius to 100 yards from home location?

iOS has trouble being accurate within small areas. We’ve found that Skylark will falsely trigger home and away if the space gets too small. If this changes in the future, we’ll certainly support it!

  7. Skylark Device @ Home = Never Auto-Away

If there is a Skylark enabled device at home, regardless of the Nest thermostat detecting motion or not, Auto-Away will not trigger.

Nest doesn’t allow us to “start” auto-away mode. Our best recommendation is to either disable auto-away and strictly use Skylark, or stick to using a schedule (and not use Skylark).

  8. Change temp setpoint upon leaving/arrival instead of away/home

To retain some auto-away usefulness and fine-tune Nest behavior, it would be nice to be able to change the temperature setpoint when all devices leave or arrive home. For example: configure Skylark to set "leaving temperature" to 80°F and "arrival temperature" to 76°F.

Hey Brian! If we simply adjusted the temperature setting, the Nest would continue on it’s schedule and potentially change it while you’re gone. Instead, we suggest changing your high and low away temperature set points on your Nest. I believe this will accomplish what you’re aiming to do.

  9. Go into autoaway instead of away

By going into autoaway instead if away it would mean that should someone arrive home other than the regular users (ie grandma or babysitter) the motion sensors would take nest out of "auto away"

  10. Idea or help

By setting the nest into away my schedule is no longer used so when I get home then my ac starts cooling the house. I have the precool setting turned on so when I get home the nest has my house at 76 degrees. The app needs to let schedules still work and also use location.

The Nest does not allow schedules to operate when in Away mode. We’re unfortunately unable to override this behavior.

If you find that you operate on a fairly regular schedule, using the Nest scheduling feature may prove to be a better option than using Skylark, which is designed for anti-schedule users.
